Why would it have been easier for Tally to activate the pendant when she got to the smoke? Explain.

It would have been easier for Tally to activate the pendant when she got to the smoke, because then she wouldn't have felt so bad, for betraying her friends. She wouldn't have known what they all went through to get here, or what it is like her. Then she wouldn't have to live with the burdon of destroying the smoke.
